I go through this nation from coast to coast, showin' superheroes that I'm the most

An interesting interview with me on Bookslut. And by "interesting" I mean "awesome" in that I got asked a bunch of questions that I don't ordinarily hear. And by the guy who interviewed Chuck Palahniuk a few short weeks before. So I got that going for me. Which is nice.

Tim O'Neil looks at Hench and deems it "OK in my book." Scroll down past all that Kyle Raynor/Quasar stuff for the real meat.

Some guys at some website review Demo and Scurvy Dogs here.

Those of you with the capability and desire to watch .mov files may enjoy Jumpin' Jim Cox crush me in Full-Contact Maximum Professional Air Hockey Extreme (yes, this tape has been slowed down so you can follow the action with the naked eye) at the Ed Brubaker Invitational on Free Comic Book Day at the Isotope.

... and here's a link to Loose Cannon #23 (from June 15th, 2001), where I had to explain to people what a coupon was, and its utility. Man, I have to tell you, that was some crazy stuff going on, back then.

We need help, like quick, on the double. Have pity on the city, man it's in trouble! We need heroes like the Lone Ranger and Tonto came pronto, when there was danger. They didn't say they'd be there in half an hour, 'Cause they displayed... Turtle Power!

H over at The Comic Treadmill gives us a great review of Demo #5.

Scurvy Dogs fans will be happy to note the boys are represented on the home page here.

Getting ready for the big San Diego show. You can find AiT/Planet Lar at the appropriately-numbered booth... 2001.

... and here's a link to Loose Cannon #22 (from June 8th, 2001), where when I first met my good friend James Sime is immortalized forever on the Internet.

Steve and Danno, they made the scene, the agent had done his deed. They saw the stiff; they saw the gun. They said "Book him, Danno, murder one!"

Augie De Blieck, Jr. has a review of Joe Casey and Charlie Adlard's Codeflesh in this week's Pipeline on Comic Book Resources.

H over at The Comic Treadmill has given the nod to Demo as its Independent Comic of the Month in their July picks over there. I could not agree more with the pick for Elements of Style, either.

... and here's a link to Loose Cannon #21 (from June 1st, 2001), where I stopped being subtle and just came right out and gave up THE SECRET OF SUCCESS IN COMICS.

It's all right if you love me; it's all right if you don't. I'm not afraid of you running away, honey, I get the feelin' you won't.

Cat's finally out of the bag: Newsarama has the scoop on Adam (Hench) Beechen's masterminding of the new Justice League Unlimited.

"If the Travels With Larry series has taught me anything, it would be to never again underestimate the versatility of Charlie Adlard."

An excellent article in The New Republic by Adam Graham-Silverman about what makes a good comic book movie. While The New Republic might be an unconventional place to get your comic book movie news, at least Graham-Silverman quoted Scott McCloud, the Los Angeles Times, my friend Joe Ferrara, and me for the piece.

"AIT/Planet Lar (206) has two MUST-GET books this month, Demo #10 and Jax Epoch and the Quicken Forbidden Vol 2.""

Warren Ellis does a quick review of Last of the Independents on artbomb.

... and here's a link to Loose Cannon #20 (from May 25, 2001), where I checked in with Joe Casey and where he was at and what he was doing. It's like a time machine, isn't it?

You may have noticed we never take a day off from MAKING COMICS BETTER, here, at AiT/Planet Lar. Mimi has redesigned the site with a better navigation: read the Daily Update, check out our fifty books or so under the "Worthwhile Reading" menu, or surf around the "More from AiT" area (where you'll find links to a free lettering font, our delphi message board, my Comic Book Resources column, and contact info. Poke around a little more in there, and you'll spot our mission statement, resources for our retailer pals, and even a place where you can buy our costume spacesuits).
