... and here's a link to Loose Cannon #16 (from April 27, 2001), wherein we discuss The Fifth Taste, using my buddy Mike Brennan as a test case. "And when Brennan gets his Eisner, and signs that lucrative animation deal, and Blammo blimps hover over major sporting events, you can tell your friends about the fifth taste," I wrote, back then. It's like I had a crystal ball.

All my friends know the low rider; The low rider is a little higher

Marc Mason's Should It Be a Movie? column tackles both Hench (where he gives it an A and says, "The dialogue is crisp and realistic, the art is sharp and tells the story very effectively. Another fine jewel for Larry Young’s little empire.") and True Story, Swear to God: 100 Stories, (which he gives an A-).

Comic book retailers may be interested to learn our retailer section has been updated with Hench and Demo marketing materials.

They were asking if you were around... How you was, where you could be found

Laura Gjovaag takes a look at Hench and True Story, Swear to God: 100 Stories and gives 'em both the thumb's-up.

Johnny B looks at Demo #7 and decrees it "a definite contendah for best issue of the series" while Tim O'Neil says Demo #6 is his "favorite of the series so far." Who to believe? Who to believe?

The Fourth Rail's Randy Lander gives Hench a 9 out of 10, saying, "Hench starts off with our lead character pointing a gun at the head of a tied-up vigilante, and it just gets more interesting from there." Don MacPherson shines his light on the 136 page, $9.95 trade paperback of True Story, Swear to God: 100 Stories.
