It sure was cool seeing my old pal Jim Lee high above the Isotope retail floor on Wednesday (sorry I missed Sauce, Jim!) and meeting the extremely talented Lee Bermejo, Matteo Casali, Michele Petrucci, and Grazia Labaccaro. Here's a couple of 3D pics (courtesy of veteran correspondent Römmel Jamias) of the shop, the crowd, the guests, and our host:

To make sure you get the maximum amount of The-Next-Best-Thing-To-Being-There, grab a pair of specs from any Ray Zone book you have lying around, or score some free ones from your pals at Rainbow Symphony. Get those red/cyan ones to enjoy optimum isotopic dimension.

Jason Richards is doing an Isotope over at A Store Called Riot! so it's the least I can do to send him some Smoke and Guns and The Black Diamond posters. He notes I'm sending him some "promo stuff," but I think he'll be happily surprised with the box he actually ends up with.

Erin Schadt, The Comic Queen, notes that I apparently have researched animal romance and, most recently, autism in the critters. I hesitate to remind everyone that "animal romance" in comics seems to be the purview of Frank Cho.

The august personage of Augie De Blieck, Jr. notes the appearance of the Smoke and Guns trade paperback thusly: "...a new graphic novel from writer Kirsten Baldock and artist Fabio Moon, he who drew Ursula. The short preview of the book in the back of the recent preview issue of The Black Diamond stole the show. The hook is strong enough to interest you, but the art will blow you away."
